Ballymoney Library in Summer Reading Challenge
Organised by The Reading Agency, the theme of this Challenge is Record Breakers and libraries across Northern Ireland are getting ready to encourage young readers to explore some of the astonishing real-life achievements and world records as featured in the Guinness World Records Books.
Sign up at your local library then read any number of books of your choice (set your personal target between 2 and 25 books), collecting stickers and activity sheets and other rewards along the way.

Hide AdYoung readers will discover wonderful and wacky records from around the world in six different categories: Cool Tech, Way to Go!, The Big Stuff, Animal Magic, People Power and Action! Adventure!
As part of this year’s Challenge, children, parents, carers, young volunteers, teachers, much-loved children’s authors and important figures in communities around the UK will be asked to make a pledge to help us set a new Guinness World Records™ title for the Most Pledges Received for a Reading Campaign!
In Northern Ireland, some libraries will be collecting pledges on Friday 10 July between 11:00am - 3:00pm, while those not open during these hours will collect pledges on Saturday 11 July between 10:00am - 12:30pm. Remember to contact your local library to find out which day it will be taking part in the Guinness World Records™ attempt.
Children aged 4 years and above are invited to sign up at their local library from 1 July, when they will be given some fun materials to get them started. The challenge lasts until 31 August and it’s absolutely free!

Hide AdBallymoney Library is holding a series of Storytime and Craft sessions beginning on July 20th and running every Monday concluding Monday, August 24th.
The sessions will run from 2.30pm - 3.30pm for ages four to eoght. Booking is essential.
