Pigeon Festival launch
At a press launch John Leslie Festival Director said: “We are delighted to announce the programme of events for a great weekend of music and film at the great location which is Leslie Hill Estate, Ballymoney.”
The festival launch was attended by Ralph McLean, BBC Radio Ulster; Councillor Bill Kennedy, Ballymoney District Council; Liz Johnston, Ballymoney District Council and John Leslie, Festival Director.

Hide AdSpeaking at the launch Council Development Committee Vice-Chair, Bill Kennedy, said: “We are delighted to support the inaugural Pigeon Field Music and Film Festival in Leslie Hill Estate on 19th and 20th August and sponsor The ‘Two Minute Max’ film competition.
“I am confident that the eclectic mix of exciting R&B bands, new folk and acoustic acts and film screenings will attract visitors to our borough and provide an economic benefits and business opportunities for this region with the growth potential to become a national event.”
Gates open at 5pm on Friday 19th August with designated parking and camping areas. Camping will be in the Pigeon Field right up close and personal to the acoustic stage and main stage arena.
A barbecue is available for Friday night campers from 7pm onwards and Sheelin open on the acoustic stage at 7pm. The Red Velveteens follow at 8pm and The Hard Chargers complete the Friday night line up of music at 9pm.

Hide AdThe film line up then takes over with screenings of ‘Relentless’ at 10.30pm, ‘The Ten Steps’ at 10.45 and the fantastically scary feature ‘The Blair Witch Project’ at 11pm followed by ‘Black Sheep’ at 12.30am all on the woodland screen.

Hide Ad‘Cup Cake’, the feature, will be screened at 6pm in the Dutch Barn.
Period classic films will be screened in the Bellbarn walk through screening area in the farmyard all day Saturday.
The organisers reserve the right to reorganise times, venues, running schedules throughout the festival as seems appropriate.
The Festival takes place on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th August 2011 at Leslie Hill Estate in Ballymoney and offers a new and unique summer event with a great mix of bands, short films, food, Lavery’s Bar and a stunning location.
