The streat Larne counts the calories for new scheme
The aim of the initiative is to provide customers with clear information, giving them the opportunity to make a more informed choice when it comes to choosing what is best for themselves and their families. With many fast food outlets including McDonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC currently displaying calories on menu boards as part of the Government’s responsibility deal, and most supermarkets displaying nutritional information, there is widespread expectation that this practice will become law.
Franchisee Heather McCrudden said: “We have noticed a lot of people asking us about healthy options, so we feel that being part of this pilot will be greatly received and brings our customer service to another level.”
Feedback from streat customers will determine whether the scheme will be rolled out to the brands 30 cafes across Ireland and Scotland.
