C.diff killed 13 andMRSA killed onein Western Trust
The ‘superbug’ meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), meanwhile, killed one person here during the same period.
Finance Minister Mervyn Storey revealed the mortality rates in response to an Assembly Question tabled by Fearghal McKinney of the SDLP.

Hide AdC.diff was the main underlying case of death three times in 2012, three times in 2013, and seven times in 2014.
MRSA was the main underlying cause of death in one case in 2012.
There were even more cases where the diseases were mentioned on death certificates here.
There were 33 cases where C.diff was mentioned on the death certificate between 2012 and 2014
There were nine cases where MRSA was mentioned over these years.
It was not possible to determine where the infections were acquired.
