DUP kicks off its election campaign
Mrs Foster stopped off at Monkstown Boxing Club during her visit to the East Antrim constituency, which was hosted by candidate Alastair Ross.
“Monkstown Boxing Club is a great example of a facility that does so much with young people in the local community to promote sport, education and positive life choices,” Mr Ross commented. “It was fantastic for the young champions of the future to have the opportunity to meet the First Minister and explain to her how important the club and their various programmes have been in their lives.”

Mrs Foster said: “Local businesses are the backbone of our economy. I want to bring new and better jobs to every part of Northern Ireland. Indeed out of the 9,000 jobs created last year, 73 per cent of them were outside Belfast. It is important that as we move forward we ensure no part of Northern Ireland is left behind. One of the biggest issues raised by businesses is broadband. This is something that is now an essential utility for doing business. We have made massive strides on improving access to high speed internet and as a rural MLA I’m incredibly motivated to put further investment into this.”
