Filmmaker on charity mission
Ryan Coney will be volunteering with Progressio, which runs international citizen service programmes focused on developing vulnerable communities in post-conflict Central American and African countries.
The Masters in Documentary Filmaking graduate will be living within the local community and acting as their media representative. His duties will include taking photos and videos of the volunteers as they carry out duties on behalf of Progressio.

Hide Ad“I will actually be living with a local family for the duration of my stay”, he said.
“Since the family know no English. I am currently learning Spanish.”
Ryan will be volunteering in Nicaragua for 10 weeks, and plans to shoot footage of his own journey and interaction with the local people.
Upon his return he intends to edit the footage into a documentary film and enter it in local festivals.
