Find out where St Patrick's parades and celebrations in Mid Ulster are happening

Divisions and bands mostly from Counties Antrim, Derry and Tyrone are taking part in the parade to mark Ireland’s patron Saint. There will be a number of smaller parades in towns and villages, such as Magherafelt and Cookstown, this morning by local AOH Divisions prior to boarding the buses to the County Tyrone venue. Those taking part will assemble on the Monaghan Road prior to the procession moving off at around 3pm. About 20 bands are expected to take part, including Kinturk AOH, Ardboe Central, Rasharkin, Loup, Ballinderry Bridge, Desertmartin, Ballinascreen and Feeney It is scheduled to make its way along the Monaghan Road to Moore Street, Aughere/Ballygawley Road junction, Moore Street, Monaghan Road to the GAA grounds where the demonstration will take place. Following the platform proceedings, and an opportunity to rest and catch up with old friends, the return parade through the village will get underway taking brethren back to the buses. A spokesperson for the AOH said they are hoping for good weather and a good turn out for the annual parade. “It’s always a good day out for the entire family and allows members from the various divisions across the country to renew friendships and just enjoy the craic on the day,” he said. Meanwhile, in Dungannon the St Patrick’s celebrations will have a real appeal for all ages, with plenty of music, dancing and pageantry for the entire family. Bands, floats and children and young people from various sporting and cultural organisations, are assembling at Ann Street from 2.30pm, with the parade leaving the site of the former Hillcrest Bar (now McAleers) just before 3pm. Coalisland Silver Band will also be providing musical entertainment at Ann Street from 1.45pm until the parade starts. The event is organised by Dungannon Gaelic Forum, in conjunction with Mid Ulster Council and sponsored by Westland Horticulture.
