'˜Five for £1' car parking promo
Mayor Cllr Billy Ashe joined local traders to welcome new signage promoting the current car parking promotion in Ballymena, Larne and Carrickfergus town centres.
The £1 for five hour’s parking scheme is already well established, but now local retailers and the Mayor are jointly urging shoppers to take full advantage of the offer.

Speaking about Ballymena, Libis McAllister, owner of Ultimate in Fashion, added: “The car parking initiative provides further reason for shoppers to stay in Ballymena town centre for a longer amount of time and get around the wide range of shops and services available.
“All these car parks are positioned around the town centre and are within a short walking distance of our main shopping streets.”
In Ballymena, over 1,700 spaces are included in the initiative. These can be found at Church Street 1 (199 spaces), Church Street 2 -Meeting House Lane (117 spaces), Church Street 3 (140 spaces), Broughshane Street 1 - Garfield Place (248 spaces). Broughshane Street 2 - Summerfield (76), Mount Street 1 (84). Mount Street 2 -Park Street (55), and Springwell Street (812).
