Gleann Darach shows off new look
Gleann Darach has been part of the local community for more than 10 years, and is made up of a school, nursery and after-school clubs, as well as offering language, music, drama and cultural classes.
The centre, off Glenavy Road, was put forward for the paint donation to help finish a five year project to provide a purpose built centre which is anticipated to have a footfall of 750 people.

Stephen said: “We are delighted with the Let’s Colour paint donation which adds the colourful finishing touches to the new build Family Centre.
“The donation will colour people’s lives from the young toddler with Mum and Dad, right through to the older members of our community, encouraging all to be involved and to grow together reflecting the strong cultural and welcoming ethos of Ionad Teaghlaigh Gleann Darach.”
More than 20 volunteers rolled up their sleeves to use bold primary coloured paints including blue, yellow, green and red to create the Gleann Darach crest on the wall which is an oak tree, along with oak leaves and acorns, which reflects the motto of the centre of growth and interdependence.
Tony Foat, store manager of the Dulux Decorator Centre, said: “We’re glad our paint donation helped bring people together in a positive way and benefit the community.”
