Green light for link road
The scheme, which is being jointly funded by the Department of Regional Development and Banbridge District Council, will see a new road built off Bridge Street to the Rathfriland Road.
Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced a total investment of approximately £500,000, for the 290 metres of new link road and footways at Gospel Lane in Banbridge.

“This is a significant capital investment in the infrastructure in Banbridge,” said Mr Kennedy.
“I am confident that residents and visitors to the town will welcome the improvements which will complement the finish used in the recent Environmental Improvement schemes.
McAvoy won the contract for the construction of the link road and work is expected to begin next Monday (September 22) and last approximately twelve weeks.
