Linsey’s sisters to race for life
Sisters Julie McCullough and Ruth Smyth decided to take part in this year’s Race For Life in honour of their younger sister Linsey, who sadly passed away last April from cervical cancer, at the age of 33.
As Race For Life is a female-only event, they named their team ‘Sisters race against cancer’. The team is made up of friends, family and good friends of their late sister Linsey.

The Leisure centre was a great support and offered anyone who wore Pink a special discount on the class with the remainder being donated to their cause.
Another member of the Team, local hairdresser Helena Barr, is completing the Lisburn half marathon in Linsey’s honour. She has already raised a lot of money and is kindly donating it all to the Race for Life total.
As part of the pre-race fundraising, the Team have organised a ‘Pink Party’ at The Downshire Arms Hotel Cellar Bar on May 23.

The Team would like to say a big thank you to The Downshire Arms Hotel for their fantastic support and also allowing the girls to host their party in the cellar bar at no cost. Local Business man, Nigel Cinnamond of ‘three60design’, has also been extremely kind in supplying them with colour flyers to promote the Pink Party.
All of the girls in the Team have worked really hard in gathering sponsorship, promoting the Facebook page (Sisters Race Against Cancer) and by sharing the TEXT to DONATE number.
The girls said: “We are determined to raise as much money as we can for Cancer Research UK. As serious as the topic is, we want to create an event that is fun and memorable.
