Man (34) stole DVD player from store
A 34 year old man was given a suspended prison sentence last Friday at the magistrates court for a theft offence.
Paul John Joseph Whitla, Hillcrest Manor, Craigavon, admitted the theft of a portable DVD player, valued at £49.99, from Sainsbury’s on July 12 last year.
He was sentenced to five months in prison, suspended for two years, fined £150 and order to pay compensation of £49.99.
The court heard he was seen on CCTV taking a box with a DVD player in it.
Defence said his memory of this incident was almost nil because at the time he was on medication.
