Man plays ‘chicken’ with train
Police have now issued a stern warning about the dangers of railway lines.
Police received a report of the incident at the Station Road, Cullybackey area on Wednesday night.

Hide AdShortly after 9:40pm, it was reported that a male ran out onto a railway line in the area. The male is believed to have jumped in front of an ongoing train, which was required to make an emergency stop. No one was injured during the incident and enquiries are continuing.
He is described as wearing a green top with white Adidas bottoms.
Police issued a strong safety warning in the wake of the incident.
“Members of the public should never, ever play or socialise near or on railway lines and stations as the consequences could be deadly,” said a spokesman.

Hide AdTranslink are running a campaign over the summer months based on the ‘Deadline’ theme which highlights the dangers of crossing the line, whether on the platform or close to tracks.
CCTV is in operation at stations, railway crossings and on most trains. Translink monitors inappropriate behaviour and prosecutes anyone caught damaging property or endangering others.
