Now, a little over a year after Bruce’s death, and with the support of the Moulds family, the newly elected Lisburn Mayor has announed the August 23 Motorcycle Run as one of the main fundraising events for his chosen charity, Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Participants will depart Lagan Valley Island at 9am on Saturday morning, August 23, and travel to Newcastle, returning to Lisburn via Kilkeel, Rostrevor and Newry. Entry to the run costs £10 per person.
Councillor Ewing is encouraging would-be participants to also obtain sponsorship forms, available on the Council website - www.lisburncity.gov.uk - and from the mayor’s office.

“I know how generous the motorcycling fraternity is and I encourage people participating in the run to seek sponsorship from family, friends and the local community.”
The mayor has enlisted the support of five-time Ulster grand Prix winner Phillip McCallen - whose business is based at Lisburn’s Lissue Industrial Estate - and that of GS Motorcycles in Hillsborough.
Both retailers will be offering special promotions and discounts to participants on the day of the event.
