Megan recognised for her dedication to volunteering
Megan Kerr, volunteer with Larne Swimming Club, joined hundreds of other young people from across Northern Ireland at the iconic Titanic Belfast building, where she scooped the Millennium Volunteers Award of Excellence.
The event, organised by Volunteer Now, aims to recognise the sustained volunteering commitment given by young people through the Millennium Volunteers programme.

Hide AdEach young person has given at least 200 hours of their own time, skills and enthusiasm to help individuals or organisations in their community.
Presenting the awards was Mervyn Storey MLA, chairman of the Northern Ireland Education Committee, who said: “I welcome the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of this year’s volunteers and hear their experiences and achievements.
“Giving up to 200 hours to be a Millennium Volunteer is a significant commitment and I am always impressed that these young people from across Northern Ireland give up their time to help others.”
