Motorcyclist lands in court after tailgating
Conal Walsh (25), whose address was given to the court as Annesborough Road, Lurgan, was also given nine penalty points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
As well he was fined £60 for having defective indicators on the motorcycle.

Hide AdThe court heard that at 10.40pm police were travelling on Lake Road, Craigavon, when they were passed by a motorcyclist.
The motorcycle then drove about one metre behind a car in front.
It was ‘tailgating’ the vehicle before overtaking.
There was a defective light on the motorcycle.
A barrister representing the defendant said that the defect with the indicator was fixed a few days later.
She explained that Walsh worked nightshifts, from 10am to 6am, and if he lost his licence it would be virtually impossible for him to keep his job.

Hide AdThe lawyer asked the court to deal with her client by points so that he could keep his licence and his job.
District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, who was given a reference on the part of Walsh, said there was a reasonable gap in his offending which did not contain anything about the quality of his driving.
