New ASEC group holds first meeting
Agencies Supporting Ethnic Communities (ASEC) formerly known as the Ballymena Inter Agency Support Group (BIAESG) met for the first time in Larne recently.
The group now cover the geographical area of Larne, Carrickfergus and Ballymena and brings together individuals from the statutory, voluntary and private sectors to explore ways of sharing best practice and identifying new approaches to support ethnic minority communities within the Mid and East Antrim area. It will also work in partnership with the Inter-Ethnic Forum (Mid and East Antrim).

Hide AdASEC’s vision is: ‘There is a strong network of agencies across Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne, working together to ensure that all people from ethnic minorities in Mid & East Antrim are welcomed and integrated into the Community.’
At the first meeting, new members were welcomed to the group and priorities discussed for the year 2016/17 with the view to making life better for people from minority ethnic communities.
The group would welcome new members to support and continue the ongoing work withminority ethnic communities.
