VIDEO: Charities bag share of £20k shoplifting haul
The haul, estimated to be worth around £20,000, was seized back in October, 2012, by police who searched the home of a woman caught shoplifting in the town.
During sentencing, the judge ordered disposal of the stolen goods and the decision was taken to return items to retailers who could identify them as having been their property and to donate the remainder to local charities including Hospice, Marie Curie Cancer Care, St Vincent de Paul, the Salvation Army, and Women’s Aid.
