Walkers set for Hospice trek in April
UTV Weatherman Frank Mitchell was on hand this year to help launch the Annual Towpath Walk. Frank said, “I’m delighted to see the Towpath Walk in its 21st year. Deborah and her team put a lot of work into this event every year and have raised a fabulous amount of money over the past 20 years. It’s an event that people of all ages can participate in so I really would encourage families and groups of friends to come out this year and support this event. I’m predicting a sunny day too so you’ve no reason not to join in for a fun day out!”
This years walk will take place on Sunday April 29, leaving from the Cue Club, Newry at 2pm and will continue up the towpath towards Jerrettspass and back to Newry. A light buffet for all walkers will be served afterwards in Newry Hockey Club on the Belfast Road. The walk is a 10mile challenge; however, for those who prefer a lighter challenge, there is also a 5mile challenge option with car lifts available on the day to return walkers to the Hockey Club.
