Bowls: Old Bleach out to scupper Dunbarton’s quest to win the title
Dunbarton are currently at the top of the table by half a point, although they have a game in hand on chasing Belmont. The have three key league games this week, factored in around Saturday’s Cup final.
Tonight (Tuesday), they travel to face Ewarts before again hitting the road to take on Cup final opponents Old Bleach on Thursday evening with the return fixture on Sunday.

“If we lose one of our last four, we might have to rely on the game between Ballymena and Belmont so we have to go in looking to win all four.”
As regards coming up against their Cup opponents two days before the all important showpiece occasion, Wilson doesn’t think Thursday’s victors will hold much of an advantage on Saturday.
“It will be strange,” he said. “I’d rather have played them at home on Thursday because we’re so strong at home. Nobody is coming close to beating us, we’re hammering teams every week in Gilford. They’re a hard team to beat away.

“Our backlog of fixtures now is because we don’t have floodlights. We’re in bad need of them at our green,” he concluded.
