BOXING: Sinky goes back to where it all began
The New Mossley fighter won gold at the Commonwealth Games Canada in 1994 before turning professional and clinching the British title. He became one of only four Irish fighters to win and retain the Lonsdale Belt outright.
Sinclair visited his old club to present medals to 22 boys, aged five to 10, who are just starting out in the ring.

Hide AdThe youngsters were taking part in a non-contact boxing training programme run on Saturday mornings concentrating on mobility, coordination, balance and physical literacy and the fundamentals of sport.
“It’s great to be back where it all started for me, here at Glengormley Boxing Club. It was a whole lot different then, training under Gus O’Connor and Pat McCrory some 30 years ago,” said Sinclair.
“It’s brilliant to see the new facility producing champions and more to come with these lads here today receiving their medal.”
Glengormley ABC is thankful for the continued valuable help and assistance from Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council to enable its coaches to deliver the successful training for the young boys.
