Carole Catling wins gold at Special Olympics in LA
Newtownabbey’s Carole Catling has added to her impressive medal haul by clinching gold at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles.
The 37-year-old came out on top in the table tennis singles event. Her latest win will be added to her mounting collection, having won gold at the last Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens (2011).
Carole’s win in LA was part of a double medal whammy for Ulster Team Ireland athletes, with Nuala Browne from Strabane, winning silver in 500m kayaking.
