Defeat for Scarva
Rangers made a barnstorming start to the first round tie at Scarva Park and carved out an impressive two-goal lead.
Not for the first time in recent weeks, Greg Douglas secured a penalty for his side. Douglas coolly converted the spot kick himself to put Rangers 1-0 ahead.

Hide AdKyle Jennett then swung in a perfectly flighted corner, and Greg Douglas’ header deflected off a Loughgall defender and past the helpless keeper into the net.
But a strong Loughgall Reserves side produced a five star comeback to book their place in the second round of the competition.
The sides were all square at the interval but it wasn’t until the 70th minute that the visitors forged ahead, eventually running out 5-2 winners.
Scarva had chances of their own in the second half. A stunning Rod Douglas free kick cannoned off the Loughgall crossbar and Ernie Hammond powered a header narrowly past the post.
