Football: Late Johnson strike seals victory for Coagh Reserves
Coagh Reserves followed up last week’s win with a good performance against third placed Rathfriland.
The game started at a frantic pace as Coagh looked up for it from the start.

Hide AdChances fell to Creighton, Ferguson and Gates, Coagh thought they’d taken the lead on 27 minutes when McCammon’s run and shot from the edge of the box came back off the post while moments later Ferguson was adjudged to be off side when through on
goal.
Coagh’s solid start limited Rathfriland to very few chances as Reid, Ferson and Lees where dealing with anything thrown at them.
Coagh started the second half looking the more likely to score, after a spell of sustained pressure involving three corners, they were denied by two goal line clearances.
As Coagh pushed for the win they were dealt a massive blow on 72 minutes when a free kick on the right was played into the Coagh box and the Swifts midfielder headed past Longhurst to give the visitors the lead.

Hide AdThe home side replaced S Ramsey with Jonny Johnson as they tried to get something from the game and on 79 minutes it was 1-1.
Simon Gates cross into the box from the left which evaded everyone including the Rathfriland keeper for a goal.
With ten minutes to go Coagh pushed for the winner. Lee Waterson replaced Creighton, and just five minutes later he set up the winner.
McCammon’s pass found Waterson on the edge of the box; his first time flick released Johnson who fired past the visiting keeper from close range.

Hide AdThis result sees Coagh only four points behind leaders Armagh in the League.
Next Saturday 11th April Coagh travel to Banbridge to take on Banbridge Rangers at 2.15pm
