Rampant Coalisland run riot against Rangers

THIS was another great scalp for Coalisland as they ran riot all over Ballymacash proving that on their day they can beat any team that comes up against them.
From the start Coalisland had Ballymacash on the back foot and in the 8th minute had a chance when Shane Coney slid the ball through the Ballymacash defence but the defender cleared.

Hide AdBallymacash then had a chance but their shot sailed well wide of the goal.
In the 16th minute Coalisland opened the scored as Patrick Doris played the ball over the defence and as Plunkett Kane saw the keeper come out he headed it over him. Daniel Grimley and a defender ran towards it but the ball ended up in the net.
Confidence up, oalisland began playing some nice one touch football and in the 30th minute Joe Mc Kee ran the line, cut the ball back to Gary Coney and from 35 yards he fired a rocket of a shot past the helpless keeper into the top corner for 2-0.
From the whistle Coalisland got the ball back and Shane Coney’sshot seemed to be heading towards the net when the keeper got a hand to it and saved well.

Hide AdBallymacash then got a throw in and managed to carve out a chance but their shot again sailed wide.
With only minutes left of the half Coalisland got their third when a great run by Conor Lavery down the wing released Joe McKee who whipped it into the box for Kane to shoot under the keeper for 3-0.
Ballymacash started the better in the second half and headed towards Coalisland’s goal but Coalislands defence stood firm and were giving the Ballymacash no room to shoot.
Again Coalisland pushed forward and Patrick Doris minked with Kane who played in Grimley but his shot was pushed out for a corner.

Hide AdWith 20 gone in the second half Coalisland got their fourth to seal the victory when Patrick Doris played the ball to Shane Coney who ran for 30 yards and fired a rasping shot to the near post and into the net.
Coalisland then made two changes as players had gaelic comittments. Francie Gervin and Aquanis Gervin came on for Patrick Doris and Paul Coney .
Coalisland then got a free outside the Ballymacash box. Declan Coney fired towards goal towards goal but the last defender shot out his leg and cleared.
Coalisland then brought on Niall Mullan for the injured Joe McKee.

Hide AdWith 17 minutes remaining Coalisland were down to ten men as another of their players had to leave for gaelic commitments and as they had already used all their subs they played the remainder a man short.
This actually seemed to lift Coalisland as they began to bombard the Ballymacash goal with corner after corner but they couldn’t get the ball into the net foir a fifth time.
The came closest to wrapping up the result with five minytes remaining as a long ball into the box saw Plunkett Kane chest down and shoot into the side neting.
In the final minute Kane ‘s eddort brought another great save from the Ballymacash keeper.

Hide AdThis was a great result for Coalisland as Ballymacash Rangers play their football in Intermediate B - they had no answer for Coalisland ands they didn’t have a clear chance on goal throughout the match .
