Rangers left with the blues
The game started at a high tempo and Glenavon opened the scoring on 14 minutes when their striker laid the ball off on the edge of the box and winger Andrew Hoey placed a fine shot in off the crossbar.
Neither side created a clear cut chance before the break with the majority of play taking place in midfield with Glenavon always looking for the counter attack.

Hide AdChrissy Chambers had two good efforts from free kicks and a few well delivered corners went a miss for the Gers who ended the half in control.
The second half was played at a decent tempo with Rangers unable to forge a way in behind the Glenavon back four which was well marshalled by veteran Kris Lindsay.
Glenavon clipped the top of the bar on 66 mins when a shot was deflected high in the air and keeper Davy Crawford was booked for a foul in a race for a loose ball with striker Andy Hoey.
The same striker was able to get a clear chance on goal on 80 minutess when Conor Hagan released Taggart down the right and Hoey finished the move well from close range.

Hide AdBanbridge Rangers had spells of pressure late on but never came close to taking the tie into extra time.
Glenavon Reserves now face the winners of Laurelvale and Dollingstown whilst Rangers now have September 28 now free to take on AFC Craigavon in Round 1 of the Premier Cup.
