Mark and Andrew clinch Millennium Jug at Galgorm Castle
At halfway Mark Hayes (16)/Andrew McLarnon (14) and Amarnath Dan (22)/David Mudd (20) pairings were vying for the lead two shots ahead of Peter Houston (8)/James Taylor (9) and Andrew McAlonan (28)/George Kernohan (15) followed by Patrick Reid (17)/Timothy Roddy (24) and John O’Kane (10) and Keith Clements (10).
Through fourteen the Hayes/McLarnon and Dan/Mudd partnerships were still out in front by three shots from Houston/Taylor and McAlonan/Kernohan.

Hide AdAn improving Mal Bellew (6)/Michael McAuley (14); John Law (6)/Simon Kennedy (7) partnerships joined O’Kane and Clements another shot behind.
A bogey over Beechers by Dan gave him and his partner Mudd a shot advantage over Hayes and McLarnon but the short lead was to end at the next hole. The latter pair regained the lead by a shot when McLarnon parred the hole to a double bogey from the Dan/Mudd pairing.
McAlonan and Kernohan were a further shot down with Reid/Roddy; O’Kane/Clements; Law/Kennedy; Houston/Taylor and an improving Colin Steele (4)/James Smyth (7) pairing making a late effort another shot away.
Hayes and McLarnon with a bogey, par finish held on to win by one shot from Reid/Roddy (bogey, par) who finished runners-up.

Hide AdO’Kane/Clements (two pars) and Steele/Smyth (bogey, birdie) finished together and with a better back nine third place went to Steele and Smyth with O’Kane and Clements taking fourth place.
Eight pairings finished together a further point behind – Bellew/McAuley (two pars); Graham Simms/Neville Neill (par, birdie); Law/Kennedy (bogey, par); Robin Deane/ Raymond Lynn (two bogeys); Philip Smyth (12)/Alan Collie (22) (two pars); Peter Houston/Taylor; McAlonan/Kernohan and Dan Mudd.
