Local kids benefit from multi-sport fun weeks
This is the 9th year of the programme which uses many sports, including hockey, cricket, golf, tennis, rugby, football, basketball amongst others, to provide Fundamental Movement Skills training to boys and girls aged 6 to 12 years old.
Ballymena Borough Council’s, Community Sport Development Officer, Gary Boyd, who organises the programmes states: “Having run these programmes for many years, it never ceases to amaze me how much the kids improve over the 5 day programme.

Hide AdThis year’s programme is supported by Sainsbury’s “Active Kids” programme and Ballymena Councils “Active Communities” Programme. Thanks go to Daniel Pritchard, Sainsbury’s Store Manager in Ballymena, his staff and Ballymena Borough Council’s Sports Development Officer, Katrina McCaughan, for the use of the Active Communities Coaches. Seven Towers Leisure Centre is hosting another two Multi-sport weeks beginning August 12th and 19th. Places are filling up fast and as places are limited.
